Are you
struggling with…

…stomach pain, bloating, acid reflux, diarrhea, constipation, IBS, IBD, advanced digestive conditions, chronic fatigue, chronic pain, thyroid or autoimmune conditions, migraines or headaches?

Are you looking for a holistic solution to fix all of these problems once and for all?

I know:

  • How frustrating, uncomfortable, and maybe even painful your symptoms are
  • That it’s disappointing to try diets and plans you read about online but not see the results everyone else raves about
  • The overwhelming feeling you get when sifting through tons of information to figure out what you need to do
  • Your fear that you’ll never be able to resolve your problem and have to deal with it for the rest of your life
  • How difficult it is to try to improve your health on your own without support, accountability, or knowing for sure that you’re on the right track

I understand exactly what you’re going through because I have helped hundreds of people in similar situations overcome their complex health problems.

You know, the ones your doctors aren’t finding solutions for.

The symptoms you’re dealing with are just the branches of a tree. If you’ve only been tending to these branches, you miss the bigger and more important problem, which is healing the root. Without a healthy root, you’ll always be playing catch up with your symptoms.

With my functional and integrative nutrition approach, we connect the dots with all your symptoms so we can get to the root of the problem and fix it.

First, I assess the health of the main systems of your body such as your digestive system, nutrient absorption and assimilation, immune system, inflammation, hormones, and detoxification pathways. Then I develop a plan so your body can heal and return to its normal function. We focus on food and incorporate supplements in a very intentional yet minimal way. We will also address sleep, stress, and anything else that may be contributing to your problem.

All patients start with my comprehensive, 4-month program, Eat to Thrive, which is 100% customized to your individual needs. The goal is to help you eliminate your problem by addressing your whole health and getting to the root cause of the imbalance or inflammation. You’ll get a custom food plan, nutrient supplements plan, and gut healing protocol based on comprehensive assessment and functional medicine testing.

Here’s what one of my clients had to say —

Before working with you, I struggled with urgency and diarrhea, constant stomach pain and bloating, and a general feeling of queasiness. Often I would forego my morning gym sessions because of stomach cramps and bathroom breaks. Initially I was worried about the amount of money spent and what the results may be. I was expecting to get some relief, but I wasn’t convinced my symptoms could be cured in a 4 or 5 month period. I was also worried about the amount of dietary restrictions.

Having (almost) completed the program, I’m feeling so much better! I no longer have any urgency, stomach cramps, or bloating, and my morning gym routine has returned to normal. I find that I’m more tolerable of foods when I go out to eat, and have no worries about needing to stop often on road trips. My life is completely back to normal after over a year of serious symptoms, and several years of discomfort and bouts of diarrhea after meals out. I look forward to navigating life now with the confidence that my stomach can handle special events, and that I have the fodmap plan to fall back on if I feel my eating has gotten too out of control.

Despite the dietary restrictions and multiple supplements, I actually found the program really easy to follow. The charts and sheets provided were helpful — all I had to do was follow the rules! The easy of getting supplements and tests for the program is great! It’s easy to get refills, either from you or online, so I never miss, and the office is conveniently located, plenty of appointments and quick responses to questions via email!

“I would certainly recommend Eat To Thrive to anyone having stomach problems. Attempting to treat my problems with OTC medicines and Google would never have resulted in a “diagnosis” of SIBO and leaky gut — and they certainly wouldn’t be cured! I would especially recommend this program to family and friends because I know it works, 100%.”

Why work with me?

  • Unlimited support and attention. When you work with me, I give you 100% support and attention. I want you to benefit from this program as much as you want that for yourself. I don’t set a timer when the session starts!
  • You don’t have to show up in person to get your questions answered. It’s difficult to take time from your busy day and come in-person every time you have a question. That’s how most medical practices function, but I don’t like this model. To help you progress smoothly with healing your gut and your body, you can reach me by email or phone anytime during the program and not get delayed by work demands, travel, family schedule, or anything else that comes your way.
  • You’ll save time and money. You’ve probably already spent so much time and money trying a variety of diets, products, treatments, practitioners or procedures that didn’t work. With a complete assessment and advanced testing, you will have a clear and comprehensive step-by-step path to healing. You can stop all the haphazard experiments that just delay getting relief and waste your money.
  • Get help with the day-to-day challenge of cooking. As an author of a cookbook and a mom cooking for my family for years, I will help you with the day-to-day challenges of making meals and snacks that fit your customized plan and your lifestyle. You’ll have to make some changes to the way you eat, and most doctors (conventional or functional practices) don’t have the time or skills to help you with that. I have been guiding my patients for years and know which recipes are easy and taste good as well as which food products and snacks make your planning easier.
  • All tests are included as a part of the Eat To Thrive program. Advanced functional medicine testing is included in the Eat To Thrive program so you don’t have to spend thousands of dollars more on additional testing costs.
  • A collaborative approach. I’ll tell you what you need to do AND I’ll also help you set gradual goals and action plans to get amazing results. We will move at a pace that you’re comfortable with so you don’t get overwhelmed.
  • Everything is customized. The diet plan, nutrient supplements, and gut healing protocol is personalized for you. That’s the only way to get lasting results. That’s the only way medicine and nutrition should be…catered to your individual needs.
  • Proper sequencing. There’s a specific order for introducing foods, supplements, and tests. Without a step-by-step system, in the proper sequence, you’ll interfere with your ability to get results. In fact, it’s possible that you didn’t get results in the past because you skipped an important step in the process. Prioritizing is very important, and I will tell you what you need to tackle first.
  • Supplements alone won’t resolve your issues. You may have read about certain supplements and products that can help fix your problem. Here’s the truth: if your gut is inflamed and not digesting properly, you won’t be absorbing any of these supplements. In other words, you’ll just have very expensive pee and poo! When you work with me, you will get professional recommendations tailored to your specific needs, using a whole person approach. This way you can actually benefit from the supplements you’re taking and possibly even not need so many products long-term.

How my process works

When working with me, here’s what the process involves:

Step 5

Throughout the Eat To Thrive program, we will meet regularly to monitor your progress, modify the plan, and troubleshoot if needed. You will have guidance and clarity, and I will hold you accountable. At the end of the 4 months, many (if not all) of your symptoms should be resolved and you’ll be well on your way to healing your gut inflammation. You’ll also have significantly more energy to do the things you love.

At this point, the majority of my patients are eating a healthy diet that consists of a variety of foods and are able to eat out at restaurants without worrying about their symptoms. They continue to incorporate the gut healing foods and supplements according to the schedule we’ve set together, as the body typically needs more time for complete gut healing. (Think about it: unknowingly, you’ve probably been damaging your gut for months, if not years. While we can make major progress in 4 months, you’ll need to continue moving forward with my recommendations for longer than 4 months.)

Step 6

After the 4 months, at the end of your Eat To Thrive program, you’ll be feeling significantly better. At that point, you can take everything you’ve learned about nutrition, gut health, your own test results, assessments, and recommendations, and move forward on your own. Or, if you enjoyed the process and having my support and accountability, we can talk about ways you can continue working with me. You and I will assess what you might need in terms of continued support and testing, and I will share options for monthly or quarterly follow-ups.

Step 1

First, we’ll start your Eat to Thrive program with a comprehensive assessment of your medical history, current eating habits, and lifestyle. If you have previous tests and reports, I’ll review them to make sure I have the full picture of what’s going on. We’ll spend an hour or a little more together during this initial session.

Step 2

Based on what I find during your initial assessment, I’ll give you an initial plan and goals to work on, and we’ll set you up for any advanced functional nutrition testing to assess food sensitivity, gut health, or other system imbalances. Don’t worry about how or where to do the tests—we got that covered. We’ll explain everything you need when the time comes.

Step 3

If your treatment plan involves a food sensitivity test, this is when you will receive your test results. Together, you and I will decide on the foods you’ll be eating in the next phase, based on your results, medical background, and food preferences. I will help you with meal and snack ideas, recipes, and suggestions for food products that are wholesome, clean, and support your gut and immune system in order to reduce and eliminate your symptoms.

Step 4

Now that you’re starting to feel better, you will move on to the next step which is healing your gut. Without getting to the root of your gut inflammation, your symptoms will come back. Your CUSTOM gut healing protocol will be designed around any symptoms we still need to address as well as the results of your stool testing. At this stage in the process, you will get specific food and medical grade supplement recommendations, and I will create a detailed schedule so you know exactly what to do.

You could keep going about it the way you have been, try to figure it out alone, not get the results you want, feel overwhelmed and frustrated, and continue to suffer from your pain and discomfort.

Or you can decide to work with me and discover exactly which foods are good for you, get on a clear and custom plan that has worked for hundreds of people like you, experience results much faster, eliminate your symptoms, have more energy and focus, feel heard and understood, and have someone who can help you solve and troubleshoot problems.

Frequently asked questions
What conditions and diseases do you help people with?

I help people with:

  • Digestive discomforts like acid reflux, heartburn, stomach pain, bloating, gas, diarrhea, or constipation
  • Digestive conditions like IBS, SIBO, Crohn’s disease, colitis, celiac disease
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, Hashimoto’s or others
  • Thyroid condition, diabetes, PCOS, or other hormone imbalances
  • Migraines and headaches
  • Muscle and joint pain, fibromyalgia
  • Food sensitivity and/or allergy
  • Something unknown, you don’t feel like yourself and your doctors can’t find answers or solutions
Do you help people with weight loss?

Half of my patients want to lose weight and the other half are underweight and dealing with malnutrition due to problems with digesting and absorbing nutrients.

If you want to lose weight, I can definitely help you do so, but only if you’re interested in a holistic long-term healing approach that also looks at your gut health and hormone imbalances. One of the reason your weight loss progress is stuck is due to inflammation and eating foods that you are sensitive to.

My Eat To Thrive program includes unlimited body composition measurements to assess not just your weight number on the scale, but also the most important changes in your fat and muscle mass and percentages and improvement in your visceral fat. This information has been key for helping my patients tone up and set exercise and food goals that preserve or increase their muscles and reduce their body fat.

Do you help people with diabetes, blood pressure, or heart disease?

Yes. While I focus on gut health and the majority of my clients have digestive issues, I have helped people with diabetes, high blood pressure, and/or heart disease. People often don’t realize that all of these conditions are related to overall inflammation in body, which I address through my functional nutrition approach.

Do you recommend supplements?

If you work with me, I will recommend specific products that are 100% customized to your needs. After helping hundreds of clients, I know which products give best results and which ones have the least amount of fillers, preservatives, and allergens. I recommend top quality medical grade products based on research, and I’ll provide you with details on doses and how to take them so you feel completely guided and supported. I try to be minimalist when it comes to supplements, recommending only what you need. My patients often need dietary supplements because it’s difficult to get therapeutic doses from food alone. As we work together, we will continue to assess the need for adding or stopping products to ensure the results you want for your health.

How many sessions does the program include?

There’s no limit on how many times we meet. We will set goals (like a list of new foods to add to your diet) and make sure you have enough time in between sessions to take action and report changes. Usually, I will meet with you every 2-3 weeks. In between sessions, you have unlimited email access to me. Plus, we can jump on a phone call anytime you need to get immediate questions answered.

What kind of labs do you do? Can I just have my doctor order them?

I use functional and integrative medicine and nutrition testing. These tests are not typically used in conventional medical practices, and may include food sensitivity, gut function, pathogens, and hormones. Chances are, your conventional primary care or specialist physician either doesn’t use or doesn’t know about these tests. People who have eliminated their symptoms with my program often have had other tests run, showing normal results from a colonoscopy, endoscopy, celiac blood panel, and the typical labs done at annual primary care visits. Functional nutrition tests give you different information and look at your health from a different perspective.

Do you work with people only in Northern VA?

My office is located in Herndon in Northern Virginia. You don’t have to be local to benefit from my program. I have structured my services so you can get testing done and buy products you need anywhere in the US. All you need is an Internet connection and your computer (or tablet).

How long is the program? How soon can I get started?

The Eat to Thrive program is 4 months long. This is the minimum amount of time to make sure you’re on the right path for healing your gut. It doesn’t mean you have to wait 4 months to feel better. You can expect to notice a big different in the first 10-30 days.

During your complimentary consultation, if I feel that I can help you and that you’re a good fit for my program, I’ll let you know and ask you to make a decision to sign up. The sooner you make the decision, the sooner we can start.

Most people can typically start within 1 – 2 weeks, unless there’s a waitlist or if I’m not accepting new patients at the time you reach out to me.

Do I have to give up certain foods on your program?

If you’re still struggling with your symptoms and your doctors can’t find answers, it’s very likely that your diet is one of culprits. You’re coming to me for help and guidance, and I will tell you which foods to eat and which ones to avoid based on testing, your symptoms, medical history, or anything else I find during our sessions. You will likely have to give up certain foods for a few months. As you progress with the program, I’ll give you a plan to introduce them back again. However, you may have a medical condition that requires you to avoid certain foods long-term, or you may notice that certain foods keep triggering symptoms and that you feel better without them.

Some additional client testimonials —

Before I started working with Nour, I remember wondering if is this what everyone feels like? My energy level was beyond depleted, and no amount of coffee could wake me up or even make me alert. My brain was so foggy, I struggled to remember and even process things. I’d sleep every chance I could and wake up with the same lethargy. In the morning, my vision was fuzzy, eyes were red, and my body felt like cement. I was so sore upon rising. My hips and ankles felt like iron. Stretching would hurt so bad, and only loosened me up a bit, but I had to do it because I was so afraid of falling down the stairs, and prayed with each step that I wouldn’t drop my baby.

The effects of whatever was going on inside was visible from the outside to everyone. My hair was falling out so much that there was a visible bald spot on the side of my head. My scalp was so dry that it burned when the shower water would touch it. My entire body was ashy, but my face took the hardest hit- I was a dull, pale blue. I tried so many shampoos and topical creams/oils, but nothing worked. I thought was eating all the right foods to keep me and my family healthy: wild salmon weekly, spinach, whole grains, bananas, avocados, kale and cabbage. I thought I was doing right for me and my family. I chalked it all up to fatigue and hormones. I figured once I stop breastfeeding, I’ll go back to “normal”. But I honestly didn’t remember what normal felt like.

My stomach was so bloated and distended, I looked like I was in a second trimester of pregnancy. Worst of all these symptoms was the sludgy bowel movements that I had no control over. If I was out in the store, I’d have to drop everything and run to the nearest bathroom before I had an accident. One time, I actually did have an accident and my four year old whispered into the bathroom, “It’s okay mommy- I won’t tell”.

And as sweet as my daughter is, I couldn’t keep up with her. I was so irritable; everything my kids did frayed my nerves. I was in a whirlwind – struggling to keep my balance amongst a new baby, a three year old, my failing health, aging parents, a new home, and a supportive husband who also didn’t understand what was going on.

One thing I did know for sure that I wasn’t dealing with postpartum depression, because I had been there before with my first. I ended up visiting my midwives, and after blood work was taken, it showed that some antibodies were high, which indicated inflammation that can lead to Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis.

I thank God for leading me to Nour. My blood work showed that I had elevated antibodies, and if I didn’t do anything, they would attack my healthy thyroid. After researching the problem and the solution, Google led me to Nour. She was a heaven-sent.

She knew how to determine what was causing the inflammation, how to lower it, guide me through an elimination process to get my levels back on track, and how to fix my broken body with foods, vitamins, minerals, and enzymes that were healthy for me. I didn’t know how to do that. I needed fast results, and didn’t have the brainpower, energy or time to play a guessing game with my health. My life and my family’s well being depended on it. I prayed on it, and am grateful for the results.

We’ve all heard the idiom “a new lease on life”, but I really feel like I signed it. Two days into the program, my body aches were drastically lowered. I remember walking down the stairs and not feeling achy ankles, or wobbling because of my sore hips. Within a few weeks, my skin was glowing. My dry scalp is now healthy without any special products. I wake up without an alarm and am well-rested. During our big (extended) family beach trip, everyone noticed how tiny my waist was, and asked about Nour’s program.

There’s a great sense of optimism – like a new energy in my life. I don’t remember ever feeling this good, not even in my youth. My kids, husband, extended family, chores, and the daily struggles are all manageable now. I’m able to enjoy my kids, and feel like a real functioning adult. I am at a point where I can think, “Okay, I’m good (physically). I just need to be patient with them.”

loved meal planning with Nour. I learned more about Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis (an autoimmune disease), and that my relationship with food is one of the greatest means in prevention. I would refer Nour and her program to family and friends.
S.D., Chantilly VA

My gastrointestinal system was a bit of a wreck. I had gone to see physicians and gastroenterologists and after all the tests, they pretty much said, “Well, you have IBS.” That was pretty much the diagnosis. At that point, they were pretty much hands-off.

The biggest [result from the program] was the psychological. It eats on you everyday and you become somewhat obsessed with your problems, which kind of amplifies the issue in a sense and you start thinking about it, which causes more anxiety and more problems. [The program] kind of freed me up.

A lot of folks with this problem, think “Where’s the nearest bathroom?” “What can I eat?” “What can I not eat?” I still think about what I can and cannot eat, but I’m not as obsessed about it and I can go on vacation and go on trips and go out and not really think about it as much.

When I started seeing Nour, we started doing …a process of elimination. Eventually, we kind of figured out what it was. Once you kind of know what the problem is and attack a problem at least you feel like you could make some headway at that point. If somebody’s on the fence a little bit do [about this program], go ahead and go for it. You have nothing to lose. If you get frustrated like I had been, you’ll get to the point where you’ll have to do something and there is no reason not to try.
– Rick G.

A few years ago, I started having bad back pain due to an autoimmune condition and nothing helped. Few months before working with Nour, I found a good doctor so things were better, but I still wasn’t really active, couldn’t walk for a long time, couldn’t run, or play sports. It was affecting my sleep. It felt like my body is not supporting me. And I started gaining weight.

I wanted to know what to eat and not just take medicine. I believe that food that you take and what your body receives, your body will react to. I saw another nutritionist before but she just recommended cutting portions for losing weight but it wasn’t what I was looking for. But when I talked to you, you knew what you were doing and we did the test to find out the different level of inflammation food can cause. It wasn’t easy for the first week but got easier, and I tell people that you will love the results.

Nothing changed in my life but my food. I started losing weight. After 1-2 months, I had more energy and I started doing simple exercise. Then I tried soccer which was my hobby before and I used to play in college semi-professional. I was very excited that I can play soccer 4 to 5 times a week. I started being more and more active again. I now have energy to play soccer like I used to when I was in college which is 20 years ago. I’m really happy with the results.

I know what I’m eating is healthy for me and even eating more foods, maybe there’s one or two foods that I try to avoid but there are a lot of things that I brought to my diet. It’s been more than a year now, still feel great, I lost 25 lbs and I can eat whatever I like. It’s a great program and I recommend it to my friends. They can’t just follow my guide, it’s different for everyone.– AH

Before Nour’s program, I was struggling with heartburn, stomach distention, rashes, and hives. From completing a strict elimination diet, I now know better how some foods affect me. I discovered new supplements, including some food based, that have helped heal me.

The biggest impact of committing to 4 month program is the new habits and lifestyle I have built in which I now prioritize health over work. The program works, the available available lab tests and body composition measurements were beneficial, and have also having someone to coach and motivate you through rehabilitation.

I would have bailed on the program in the first week if I had found it on the internet and attempted it alone. Nour helped me through. I would recommend this program to a friend or family member. I tried many times on my own to solve my digestive problems. This program was an important piece of the solution.– JE

I wanted to try a different approach of managing my migraines. I wanted to see if I could see results without having to try medication first. If I was hesitant about anything, it was that I was skeptical that my migraines would go away with a dietary approach. This was my initial feeling before starting the program.

After working with Nour, my migraines have reduced! I thought I would never feel any relief from them, so I’m grateful that Nour’s guidance has helped me feel better.

I have become more cautious as to what I want to eat and have learned to look at food in a different way. Before, I would just eat whatever looked appetizing to me, disregarding how it could potentially be affecting my health. Being relatively young, perhaps I felt a degree of invincibility that there’s no way I could be getting sick from what I was eating, but after receiving my results and following the protocol the best I can, I have definitely seen positive results. You definitely are what you eat!

I would recommend Nour and her services. I’ve seen positive results for myself. I would encourage anyone with migraines or any health ailment to look into a nutritional protocol in
helping to manage their health. I think every person would benefit from it, especially from the MRT test, because you will be surprised what foods that you may be eating might be causing some type of trouble without you knowing it.– LS

When I first started thinking about consulting a dietician, I wasn’t certain that changing my diet could really help my digestive issues or fatigue. I already tried abstaining from
wheat, dairy and soy for a few weeks without results so I thought that I might have to go on medication from my primary care physician to find relief. Visiting a dietician was my last resort before I resigned myself to being on medication for the foreseeable future.

After taking the MRT and resetting my immune system, my digestive issues have been resolved. I am able to stick to a diet that is compatible with my immune and digestive systems and feel like I have enough energy to be productive in my work and home life throughout the day. I’ve also achieved greater focus and have mostly eradicated ‘brain fog’. I was also able to lose 25 pounds.

I appreciate that Nour was so thoughtful about how you help me and that she respected my choices for my care. I also appreciate that Nour has so many resources to offer me during our sessions and in your blog.

I would recommend Nour’s services specifically to anyone who is suffering from seemingly inexplicable brain fog, low energy or digestive issues. She is an excellent teacher and coach. If a client is committed to following Nour’s recommendations, then she will give them all the tools they will see results. I am so grateful for Nour’s help!– KM
