Let me
help you …

Get rid of stomach pain, bloating, acid reflux, silent reflux, diarrhea, constipation, IBS, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, fatigue, muscle or joint pain, headaches, migraines, skin problems, and inflammation from autoimmune diseases.

My integrative and functional nutrition solution will connect the dots between your symptoms and give you clarity and confidence about what to eat and more.

I know that you feel:

  • Uncomfortable, tired, and maybe even in pain from your symptoms
  • Frustrated because the diets and plans you tried didn’t fully help you get results
  • Overwhelmed with the ton of conflicting information you read and you just don’t how to fix your problem on your own anymore
  • Disappointed because your doctors keep saying that you’re fine or just keep offering medications to mask your symptoms
  • Alone and lonely in your health journey because you can’t eat the way everyone else does and you don’t have someone to support you, answer your questions, and give you feedback, direction, or accountability when you need it the most

I understand exactly what you’re going through because I have helped hundreds of people like you overcome their complex health problems.

You know, the ones your doctors aren’t finding solutions for.

Your symptoms are just the branches of a tree. If you’ve only been tending to these branches, you’ve been missing the bigger and more important problem all along. Your gut is the foundation and root of good (or bad) health. If you don’t uncover and fix the underlying problem, you’ll always be playing catch up with your symptoms.

My functional and integrative nutrition approach connects the dots, collects the right data, and puts you on the fastest path to getting your body and life back.

Here’s what one of my clients had to say —

Before working with Nour, I struggled with urgency and diarrhea, constant stomach pain and bloating, and a general feeling of queasiness. Often I would forego my morning gym sessions because of stomach cramps and bathroom breaks. Initially I was worried about the amount of money spent and what the results may be. I was expecting to get some relief, but I wasn’t convinced my symptoms could be cured in a 4 or 5 month period. I was also worried about the amount of dietary restrictions.

Having (almost) completed the program, I’m feeling so much better! I no longer have any urgency, stomach cramps, or bloating, and my morning gym routine has returned to normal. I find that I’m more tolerable of foods when I go out to eat, and have no worries about needing to stop often on road trips. My life is completely back to normal after over a year of serious symptoms, and several years of discomfort and bouts of diarrhea after meals out. I look forward to navigating life now with the confidence that my stomach can handle special events.

Attempting to treat my problems with OTC medicines and Google would never have resulted in a “diagnosis” — and it certainly wouldn’t be cured! I would especially recommend this program to family and friends because I know it works, 100%.”

What makes my program different?

  • You’re not just another patient in my practice. When you work with me, you will be heard. I won’t tell you that it’s in your head or that you’re imagining things! I care about your success and I want you to benefit from this program as much as you want that for yourself. You’ll get my 100% attention as I don’t try to fit 30 patients in a day like most traditional practices.
  • You’ll add the right food, supplement, or test, at the right time, in the right order. Without a tried step-by-step process, you will waste so much time and money and barely get any results. You may miss an important step or focus on the wrong thing when you try to do it on your own. Supplements out of context and in the wrong order are a waste of your time and money. Prioritizing is key to preventing overwhelm and to getting results.
  • You’ll save time, money, and energy. No more wasted time driving to appointments, in doctors’ waiting rooms, or researching diets, supplements, and tests and how to interpret them without much success. No more lost days due to lack of productivity, stomach pain, or bathroom trips. And no more money spent on medications, supplements, or procedures that didn’t help. You don’t see your own blind spots, and you’ll waste more time, money, and energy if you keep going at it on your own. If your problem gets worse because you’re snoozing your symptoms or your doctors aren’t helping, it will cost you a lot more in the future.
  • The Best and Most Important Tests you need to get results are included in the program. These include the mediator release food sensitivity test and DNA analysis stool test. These tests will give us comprehensive data so we can uncover the root causes and fix your gut problems without wasting time and without the risk of doing more harm if we just guess. These functional medicine tests utilize cutting-edge technologies and can’t be replaced with traditional tests. Because they aren’t cheap, I already include them in your program so you will not have to spend thousands of dollars more on additional testing costs.
  • You’re not charged by the session or the minute. Functional medicine practices charge by the session and many of them set a timer when the doctor walks into the room. You expect a bill every time you need to ask a question so you follow up less frequently. But your success suffers. When we work together, I want you to ask as many questions as you need because I want to catch any problems or challenges and not have you waste your time.
  • You’re getting a comprehensive approach. What I do is very different from traditional dietetics. I spent years training in integrative and functional nutrition. You’re getting my help with understanding the complexity of your health issues, putting things in context, ordering the right tests, interpreting lab results, putting together a food and supplements plan, and giving you meal and snack ideas, recipes, products to choose, meal timings, and everything you need from the big picture all the way to the nitty gritty details. Most of my patients say I helped them more than any of their doctors ever did. And functional medicine doctors still don’t know how to help you with the foundation, which is what to eat on daily basis! They certainly don’t dedicate enough time or attention to it.
  • You’ll be following a 100% personalized plan. You’re not getting diet recommendations you can Google online. I don’t send all my patients home with the same supplements and I don’t try to push you to buy my own products. Everything is personalized to you, which is the only way you get results and the only way medicine and nutrition should be.
  • You’re more likely to succeed because you will not fall off the wagon. My patients feel at least 50% better in just 10 days, but it takes more time to identify all your triggers and heal your gut. My program will help you make the habits and skills you learned become easy and natural so you continue to give your gut love and care for the rest of your life. People fall off track when they don’t have support or accountability. That’s why you can reach me any time you need during the 4 months we’re working together. Your questions don’t have to wait until your next session, and you don’t have to take time from your busy schedule to drive to a practitioner’s office every time you need help. When you work with me, you’re never stuck. I’m a message away.

How my process works

When working with me, here’s what the process involves:

Step 4

We have your food sensitivity test results back! We’ll review them and create your own personalized anti-inflammatory and immune-calming food plan. We will consider your preferences and every piece of your medical background, not just the test alone. I will give you meal and snack ideas, recipes, and suggestions for specific products that fit your plan.

Step 5

We meet again after you have followed your plan for 10 to 14 days. Most of my patients report at least 50% reduction in their symptoms in just this short period. I’ll modify and add to your food list, review your food records, and make sure you’re on the right track and know exactly what to do next. You’ll follow the plan for 3 more weeks, and we may incorporate certain supplements to boost your results as needed.

Step 6

After being on the food sensitivity plan for a month, my patients are feeling great. Their bowel movements are normalizing. They have significantly less gas, bloating, or heartburn, more energy, more mental focus, less weight and water retention, better sleep, and less aches and pains. You can expect 70-90% reduction in your symptoms, and any lingering issues are probably due to hidden gut imbalances that we’re about to uncover. Gut dysbiosis and leaky gut create chronic inflammation and stress that will wreak more havoc in the future if not addressed. A specialized stool test is included in your program and will give us information and direction to continue with your personalized plan.

Step 1

We start with a complimentary strategy session by phone to make sure we’re a good fit for working together through my comprehensive 4-month program, Eat to thrive, designed to restore your gut health so you can feel amazing from the inside out. You can complete an application for this session and book a time on my calendar here.

Step 2

During the phone call, if we decide to move forward, I’ll get you started with our on-boarding process. We’ll book your initial assessment session (usually within 1 week) and send you everything you need for the first appointment. Almost everyone starts with a food sensitivity test, unless I decide during the strategy session that it’s not the best first step for you. Don’t worry about logistics. Whether you’re coming in-person or working with me virtually, we have it all covered.

Step 3

In your first appointment, I’ll review your medical history, diet, lifestyle, medications, supplements, labs, and any other informationyou provide to help me put the pieces of the picture together. You will leave with better understanding of your disease and symptoms progression and a plan to follow until we receive your food sensitivity test results. If you’re coming to our office, you’ll do the blood draw for the test immediately after the appointment. If you’re a virtual client, you’ll have instructions for getting it done at a lab near you.

Step 7

We have more information about what’s in your gut and will modify your food and supplement plan accordingly. We need to rebalance your gut flora, replace nutrients, and support digestion. I’ll address any remaining symptoms, add more foods, and teach you how to take care of your gut to prevent relapse. This step will take 1-2 months and very important for your continued long-term success. You have unknowingly been damaging your gut for months, if not years, so we have to allow your body the time to heal.

Step 8

I want you to reach the goals you set for yourself by the end of our 4 months together. After you finish Eat to Thrive program, you will have made major progress, but you may need to continue with my recommendations for longer. You can take everything you learned about nutrition, gut health, cooking, meal planning, how your body works, your test results, and your long-term plan and move forward on your own. If you like my support, feedback and accountability, I can continue to help you with monthly or quarterly follow-ups or additional testing. We’ll talk about what you need then. Many of my patients feel confident on their own, but those with multiple digestive or autoimmune conditions, or who have had their symptoms for a very long time like to continue for few more months.

Step 5

Throughout the Eat To Thrive program, we will meet regularly to monitor your progress, modify the plan, and troubleshoot if needed. You will have guidance and clarity, and I will hold you accountable. At the end of the 4 months, many (if not all) of your symptoms should be resolved and you’ll be well on your way to healing your gut inflammation. You’ll also have significantly more energy to do the things you love.

At this point, the majority of my patients are eating a healthy diet that consists of a variety of foods and are able to eat out at restaurants without worrying about their symptoms. They continue to incorporate the gut healing foods and supplements according to the schedule we’ve set together, as the body typically needs more time for complete gut healing. (Think about it: unknowingly, you’ve probably been damaging your gut for months, if not years. While we can make major progress in 4 months, you’ll need to continue moving forward with my recommendations for longer than 4 months.)

Step 6

After the 4 months, at the end of your Eat To Thrive program, you’ll be feeling significantly better. At that point, you can take everything you’ve learned about nutrition, gut health, your own test results, assessments, and recommendations, and move forward on your own. Or, if you enjoyed the process and having my support and accountability, we can talk about ways you can continue working with me. You and I will assess what you might need in terms of continued support and testing, and I will share options for monthly or quarterly follow-ups.

Step 7

We have more information about what’s in your gut and will modify your food and supplement plan accordingly. We need to rebalance your gut flora, replace nutrients, and support digestion. You could keep trying to figure it out alone, not get the results you want, feel overwhelmed and frustrated, and continue to suffer from your pain and discomfort.

Or you can work with me and be confident that the foods you’re choosing are exactly the right ones for you, get a customized plan that has worked for hundreds of people like you, experience results much faster, eliminate your symptoms, have more energy, be heard and understood, and feel like a new person from the inside out.

Frequently asked questions
What conditions and diseases do you help people with?

I help people who have:

  • All digestive conditions, such as acid reflux, heartburn, silent reflux (or LPR), excessive burping, stomach pain, bloating, gas, diarrhea, constipation, IBS, SIBO, Crohn’s disease, colitis, celiac disease
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, Hashimoto’s, psoriasis, or others
  • Thyroid imbalances
  • Migraines and headaches
  • Muscle and joint pain, fibromyalgia
  • Skin issues like eczema, itching, rosacea, hives and others
  • Food sensitivities and/or allergy
  • Something unknown, you don’t feel like yourself and your doctors can’t find answers or solutions

Some of my patients have co-existing issues like high blood sugar, blood pressure, or cholesterol, and these will be taken into consideration at every step of your plan.

Do you help people lose weight?

If you’re looking for help with calorie counting or portion control, this is not the right program for you. But if you’re interested in a holistic long-term anti-inflammatory approach that will address food sensitivities and gut imbalances as root causes for your weight and water retention, we should definitely talk. My patients who want to lose weight tend to drop 10-25 lbs in the 4 months we work together by choosing the foods that calm their bodies down. They feel physically and emotionally lighter. And they’re able to work out again (or start) because they have more energy, less pain, and fewer interruptions from stomach issues.

What if I'm underweight? Will I be able to maintain my weight?

Half of my patients are underweight or can’t afford to lose more weight. The reality is, diets for healing digestive disorders can be limiting and lead to more weight loss. That’s why you shouldn’t try to do it on your own. If you need to maintain or gain your weight, we will make sure you have enough calorie-dense foods, snacks, and meals, and I’ll help you with timing your meals and what to eat on-the-go so you don’t skimp on your calories. Many of patients end up putting on healthy weight eventually because their gut is finally digesting and absorbing all the nutrients in their meals.

Do you recommend supplements?

My patients often need dietary supplements because it’s difficult to get specific nutrients in therapeutic doses to guarantee your results from food alone. I will recommend specific products and 100% customize to your needs. After helping hundreds of clients, I know which products give best results and which ones have the least amount of fillers, preservatives, and allergens. I recommend top quality medical grade products based on research, and I’ll provide you with details on doses and how to take them so you feel completely guided and supported. I try to be minimalist when it comes to supplements, recommending only what you absolutely need. I will continue to assess your supplements needs and add or wean off products during our time together.

How many sessions does the program include?

There’s no limit on how many times we meet. We will set goals (like a list of new foods to add to your diet) and make sure you have enough time in between sessions to take action and report changes. Usually, I will meet with you every 2-3 weeks. In between sessions, you have unlimited email access to me through messages. Plus, we can jump on a phone call anytime you need to get immediate questions answered.

What kind of labs do you do? Can I just have my doctor order them?

I use specialized functional and integrative medicine and nutrition tests that aren’t typically used in conventional medical practices or covered by insurance. These may include food sensitivity, stool, urine, or breath tests. Your conventional primary care doctor or specialist probably doesn’t use these tests or doesn’t know about them, so they’re likely going to push back and not order them. People who have eliminated their symptoms with my program often have had other tests done that either came back “fine” or offered very little information and no direction for therapy. I don’t want you to waste time going back and forth between your doctor and health insurance, and I don’t want you to waste time and money on tests that may not help. If you results from a colonoscopy, endoscopy, celiac panel, thyroid, IgG sensitivity, or IgE allergy test, I’d like to see those as part of my assessment. If you plan to work with me and haven’t had a physical in the past year, come see me before your annual visit. I’ll give you a list of straight-forward labs to ask your doctor to order, and I find that many doctors skip a bunch of important ones.

Where is your office? Do I have to be in Northern Virginia to work with you?

My office is located in Herndon in Northern Virginia. You don’t have to be local to sign up for my program. I have structured my services so you can get everything done anywhere in the US. We will meet virtually and share documents through HIPAA compliant software. In fact, many of my local patients mix between meeting in-person and virtually for convenience. All you need is an Internet connection and your computer (or tablet).

If you’re in Canada or another country and really want my help, reach out to me privately. On occasional basis, I have been able to work with people outside the US. The biggest challenge is getting the tests we need done.

How long is the program? How soon can I get started?

The Eat to Thrive program is 4 months long. This is the minimum amount of time I need to make sure you’re on the right path for healing your gut. It doesn’t mean you have to wait 4 months to feel better. You can expect to notice a big different in the first 10-30 days. During your complimentary consultation, if I feel that I can help you and that you’re a good fit for my program, I’ll let you know and ask you to make a decision on the phone if you can. The sooner you make the decision, the sooner we start. Most people can typically start within 1 – 2 weeks, unless there’s a waitlist or if I’m not accepting new patients at the time you contact me.

Do I have to give up certain foods on the program?

If you’re still struggling with your symptoms and your doctors can’t find answers, it’s very likely that your diet is one of culprits. And that’s what you’re coming to see me for! I’ll give you a personalized list of foods to eat and others to avoid based on your tests, symptoms, medical history, or anything else I find during our sessions. You will have to give up certain foods for a few months, but only so we can fix your problem. As you progress with the program, I’ll give you a plan to introduce them back again. However, you may have a medical condition that requires you to avoid certain foods long-term, or you may notice that certain foods keep triggering symptoms and that you feel better without them.

Do you take insurance? How much does your program cost?

My program is not covered by insurance. You will get so much more than what insurance allows or deems “billable” or “necessary.” However, you can use your HSA or FSA card to pay for the program. I can also provide a receipt if you would like to try to get some reimbursement. You can’t put a price on your health and on being able to eat, travel, and function without pain or discomfort or worry from your gut issues or the conditions that your gut is contributing to. My program will save you time and money on the long run. That being said, due to tests being included and the comprehensive and unlimited nature of my program, anticipate to invest few thousand dollars in your health when you sign up for my program.
