My dear fried Rebecca from Chow and Chatter had a Chocbite chocolate giveaway. I had to go to Chocobite website, design my own chocolate, and write a comment about it. Being a chocolate lover, that was easy to do.
Chocbite is custom-made chocolate. You choose your own chocolate (black, dark, milk, or white) and toppings (savory, fruity, nutty, sweet, or decorative). They also have ready suggested combinations if you’re not in the mood for making a decision.

I chose raw pistachios, raw almonds, and sumac spice on dark chocolate. And it was good!
Warning: the chocolate comes bitten and may promote overeating! Cut a small piece, pack the rest away, then start eating. Don’t leave the whole bar at your arm’s reach!
Off to the next review…
As I was grocery shopping yesterday, I walked by the cereal aisle to see what’s on sale and what’s new.
I found something new: Post’s Just Bunches cereal.
At the first glance, that was an exciting find. I like the taste of Honey Bunches of Oats, but honestly, the flakes don’t do much for me. They’re empty in flavor and nutrition–and I do pick the oat bunches anyways!
Looking at the Nutrition Facts Panel, there are 4 grams of fiber and 5 grams of protein per serving. GREAT! That’s definitely more than the regular Honey Bunches. Then I double check the serving size, and that made me disappointed. It’s actually not that much better. Here’s why:
- Serving size for Just bunches: 2/3 cup, weight: 57 grams. Complete nutrition info here.
- Serving size for Honey Bunches of Oats: 3/4 cup, weight: 30 grams. Complete nutrition info here.
AHA!
The serving size of Just bunches is double the serving size of the old cereal. Now that’s kind of sneaky! Eat double the serving size of Honey Bunches of Oats, and you’ll get to 4 grams fiber and 4 grams protein too.
The point here is to look at the serving size of your food, especially if you are comparing two products. You need to compare apples to apples, not apples to… cantaloupes.
