They disrupt your day-to-day activities, force you to cancel events and social commitments, affect your productivity at work, and interfere with your ability to travel, exercise, or do fun things.
Most people need to remove certain foods and replace them with other better-for-digestion foods, but there are details that depend on your specific symptoms, lifestyle, stress level, nutritional status or other factors. Not everyone needs a super strict elimination diet. Eating more vegetables and fruit isn’t always the solution. And eating a carnivore diet also isn’t. And many people with digestive issues are not taught how to re-introduce foods again so they can go back to eating normally with family and friends.
You have to get your gut ready to eliminate pathogenic and inflammatory microbes. Yes, these bad bugs are the root cause of the problem, but starting with herbal antimicrobials or antibiotics without reducing inflammation and supporting digestion, motlity, gut lining and the microbiome will only backfire. You can end up with more inflammation, more pain and discomfort, more constipation or diarrhea, more body aches, brain fog, or other symptoms.
